South Australian
designer wins a national inaugural
scholarship
South Australian theatre designer Victoria Lamb was announced as the first recipient of the Kristian Fredrikson Scholarship For Design In The Performing Arts. The $10,000 national scholarship was awarded to Victoria for her original, creative and technical skills in design. The official presentation of the inaugural scholarship took place on 15 March at The Green Room Awards in Melbourne. The Kristian Fredrikson Scholarship for Design in the Performing Arts was created as an on-going memorial to one of Australia’s most distinguished performing arts designers, the late Kristian Fredrikson, who died in 2005 after a 40 year career which encompassed ballet, opera, contemporary dance, theatre, exhibitions, film and television.
To coincide with the presentation a small exhibition of Victoria’s
designs will be displayed in The Smorgon Family Plaza in the Arts Centre
Melbourne until 3June 2010.
Examples of Victoria’s designs can be seen on her website, www.victorialamb.com.
